Clean up Week

Join us on September 20th for 'Keep Taupō CBD Beautiful.' It's a day of community-driven action as we come together to pick up litter, remove tagging, and clear weeds around our cherished shops. But it's more than just a cleanup; it's a collective effort to preserve the charm of our town center.

And we need you our dedicated shopkeepers – your active involvement is key to our success. As the heartbeat of our CBD, your support not only sets a great example but also strengthens our community spirit.

'Keep Taupō CBD Beautiful.' Every set of hands and every moment of dedication make a difference. Let's mark September 20th on our calendars and make it a day to remember. Together, we'll ensure that Taupō CBD remains the heart of our town, a place we're proud to call home.

Final stage of Taupō Transformation approved

The lighting feature is the last major element that was planned for the transformed Roberts Street area. It will consist of poles with cultural design patterning and LED strip lighting, as well as overhead lighting connecting the network of poles together.

BAG IT OR BIN IT

Taupō District Council is about to begin developing the 2024-34 Long-term Plan and as part of this process they’re looking at the future of kerbside waste and recycling collection in urban areas.

Currently, commercial areas and satellite shopping centres are serviced twice a week, with pick up every Tuesday and Friday.

Moving forward, Council is considering how they do kerbside collections and they want your feedback! Would you prefer bags or bins? Do you have a preference for collection frequency? Tell them what you think by filling in their short survey for businesses.

Learn more about the options and check out the survey.

The survey closes at 5pm Monday 4 September.
