Town Centre Halloween - Trick or Treat in the CBD
Taupo's town centre is about to be transformed into a trick or treating mecca! Look out for the little ghosts and goblins as you navigate the CBD on the hunt for all the treats. Get yourself and the kids into the most boo-tiful costumes and join in on the fun. The map of shops will be posted to our facebook page.
And we have an extra special addition to this year's festivities: Taupo District Council's Pick or Treat, where you can help keep the town tidy and snag a spooky sausage in the process.
2024 Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival
Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival is the longest running street art festival of its kind in New Zealand, held annually in Taupo over Labour weekend since 2011.
It is also the most well-established festival of any kind in Taupo's history. A combination of well-known artists, along with local emerging talent, paint 10 walls over the 3-day Labour weekend. The murals liven up and bring beauty to the back alleyways and streets of the town centre, while engaging the local community with an ever-growing art gallery in the CBD.
The 2024 version of the event will feature another incredible set of talented artists. The excitement will reach further than usual, with an artist once again stationed at the Helicopter at the mountain biking hub, and another one at the Acacia Bay shops. This will give the art enthusiasts a huge variety of settings to enjoy the incredible art.

Stella Awards Programme
Stella Awards 2024 will celebrate businesses in the Taupō region that have shown incredible resilience over what has turned out to be a more up and down 2-year period than anyone could have ever guessed.
The old challenges morphed into new challenges, and yet businesses have hustled, dug in, stayed awake in bed, and poured more in than they ever thought they could. We want to acknowledge these efforts and give business owners and frontline teams a reason to leave their burden at the door.
