The ban on single-use plastic bags is nearly upon us! From 1 July retailers will no longer be able to sell or distribute single-use plastic shopping bags to their customers.
While some shops, cafes and supermarkets have already willingly made the change, it is important that all businesses are aware of the ban and have systems in place to abide by the new rules. It should be noted that the term ‘retail’ applies to any business that sells directly to consumers or makes business-to-business transactions, both online and in-store. Cafes, food markets and take-away shops are also considered retailers in this instance.
